Is Storm King’s Thunder the Next D&D Adventure

A German site that sells tabletop products called Fantasy Welt, has listed a new product called Storm King’s Thunder. This product is listed as a hardcover book for D&D 5th Edition from Wizards of the Coast one sale for 37,46 € for release on September 6, 2016. We likely won’t get confirmation until the summer On June 1st, we should be getting details about the new storyline from WotC, but there’s a pretty good chance that the next storyline we see released this fall will feature giants (see our storyline predictions article).

ADDED: We’re finding out info about the new storyline sooner than later. On “June 1 at 4pm PDT for the exciting unveiling of the new storyline and the accompanying line of products from partners including miniatures, apparel and video games from WizKids, Gale Force 9, We Love Fine, and Cryptic/Perfect World” according to an article just posted about a live game on their Twitch channel.

We already heard from Chris Perkins at Gamehole Con in 2014 that we might be seeing “a giants based story influenced by a Shakespearean play”. So maybe we should all be planning to enjoy an adventure full of giants and political intrigue right out of Shakespear’s King Lear, Macbeth or another play.

You can check out the listing on Fantasy Welt, unless they pull it down.

Whether this adventure would be set in the Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk or somewhere else is as much of a guess as if this is even the next storyline. Anyone dying to guess what the content will be like should check out Against the Giants by Gary Gygax or Lear the Giant King from Dungeon #78.

For those hoping for a visit to Eberron, Dark Sun or a planar based adventure, you might be having to wait a little longer.
