Civil War: 4 More Avengers – Character Builds for D&D 5e

Captain America: Civil War has been out since May 6th and has already made over a billion at the box office worldwide. Whenever a superhero movie comes out, I can’t help but think about how I would build the heroes and villains.  Trying to create super hero player characters for D&D has its flaws (but they’re still fun to build like the 6 Avengers I built last year).

This week on the Campaign Trail I thought I’d offer DMs some premade characters to use or for players to look at for ideas when creating their next PC.

Avengers Assemble – Thor Rebuild for D&D 5e

A little over a month ago I shared some some character builds for each of the original movie Avengers. I think the set was pretty well received and Black Widow and Captain America turned out great. I did get a bunch of feedback on Iron-Man, Hulk (should be a Monk or Druid) and Thor (should be a Cleric). Well here is Thor as a level 12 Cleric. Let me know which Thor build you think would be work better for a level 12 one-shot. They both are pretty excellent as hitting things with a hammer.

Avengers Assemble – Character Builds for D&D 5e

Worldwide, Avengers: Age of Ultron has earned $627 million in just 12 days. Whenever a superhero movie comes out I can’t help but think about how I would build the heroes and villains in Pathfinder, Dungeons & Dragons or FATE. Also, when I read the comic Marvel 1602 by Neil Gaiman, I became obsessed with running a one-shot with powerful Marvel heroes in a medieval or renaissance setting.

Creating builds of superheroes might be a useless exercise and is generally lazy character building (versus creating a original character), but I must do what I must.
