We’ve done it as a race too I believe before it was “official”. Really overpowered, just for fun.

Vampire as a Class, and not a Race?
I’m playing a 5e Glamour Bard as a Zendikar Vampire. I think that works well.

I’ve been using this class for about
a year now and I have a couple of
mechanical questions that need a bit of clearing up:

Vampiric Legacies, I assume these are every even numbered Vampire Level NOT every even numbered character level, correct?

Also with Blood is Life, 2 Hit Dice PERIOD or 2 hit Dice in addition to any others granted by other classes. That being said, if I do get hit Dice from, let’s say Rogue, Do I get the ability to spend the Rogue hit Dice for Vampire Hit Dice Powers?

And lastly, this could very well be me missing something, the legacies state you can take some of them multiple times, but I haven’t seen them outline which ones? For example “For the dead travel fast”

I played this class and boy, oh boy, the rest of the party wasn’t ready. The game originally began as a 4th edition game where I decide to create Alistair, originally a hybrid bard/vampire. I said to the other players that it was a hybrid bard and, until the hard hitting slams, regeneration and blood drinking happened, everyone was cool. None of their characters, however, had knowledge religion so they’re characters had no clue what I was except for being ‘the red witch’. I ended up getting hit with every stereotype ever about vampires; when I wanted one on one discussions with people, they’d go to their defense, they always thought someone was going to die and never trusted me. I was good alignment and I never fed on the players. Then the DM switched to 5th edition and I played this class (thaumaturge), at level 10, discovering I was capable of dragonball Z feats of awesomeness. The class is very adaptable but vampirism in DnD comes with a stigma similar to transgender people (suspicion, distrust) except that your fluid gender has game statistics around thralldom, blood drinking and mind control
