On a more D&D fantasy scale, this could be reskinned to a Gith warrior using the Astral Plane to zip back and forth the Mat.Plane (for the Translocate ability) and the Hack Tendrils can be some kind of magical whip.

The weapon could be a repeating hand crossbow.

I’m not sure they need an advantage, but in the Overwatch game enemies can see and hear you when you use this ability.
