That's sort of a question for each campaign's internal cosmology, but I think the default is that elves are not "true" fey. Eladrin... I have a much harder time saying that they aren't "true" fey. So I guess it comes down to how much difficulty they present, as sexual or romantic partners, within the campaign?

I assume that that means that if your desire is sex/romance then your lover needs to be fey as well. But would an elf or perhaps an eladrin be sufficiently fey to sate you, or would it need to be some sort of true fey?

Okay, I need to clarify that it needs to be fey-sourced artisanal hipster bullshit (whatever). That was so implicit in my head that I didn't write it out clearly. Good catch!

Looking at the forlorn, depending on how played, the character might be able to sustain themselves. For instance a bard could compose his / her own music to play as sustenance. But once performed, it no longer is effective, so they need to find new inspiration, thus they continue their travels. A person could paint portraits of things they saw, but need to keep adventuring to see more, and thus paint more.

Yeah, the Forlorn is the most difficult to play. I can see its LARP origins. Most D&D players I've encountered wouldn't normally choose a "negative" background but it is a great challenge.

Since I'm really into Primeval Thule these days, I'd say that Forlorn would be a perfect fit for Elves in this setting.
