No, they don't stack. Teachings of the Red Knight states: "You suffer half of the damage, instead. You cannot reduce or avoid this damage by any means."

Here's my math and thoughts behind Teachings of the Forge: At the extreme end, this grants 2d12 for up to 5 hits per short rest, or a total of 10d12. However, Battle Master grants 6d12 and that damage comes with an additional effect through the maneuvers. Teachings of the Forge has a potential trade off where if the fighter chooses to resist fire damage, they lose 2d12 in damage. This number falls sharply if they use weapons besides great axe, as well. In short: better damage if you use a great axe and never use the second option, worse damage if you use something like a greatsword or start using the fire resistance.

As always, I'm willing to discuss changing it if there is something I am missing.

Wow, the way the belief the stars aid them has been incorporated really beautifully.

Me thinks the Teachings of the Forge feature might be a tad too OP, but I suck in math.

On the other hand, the Soldier's Pastime is soooo colorful and I came to love Fighter attributes that are about RPing and not stabby stab stab.

Question: Can the half damage from the Teachings of the Red Knight trait stack with the resistance from the Teachings of the Silver Bear and thus resulting into the Starscarred taking one quarter of the damage?
