While this kind of art looks weird next to the others, its uniqueness, as well as how great it looks is welcome in my collection. This issue includes three different things that you can easily plug into your game to create great tales for your players, one in the form of a ruleset, another with two NPCs with their own […]

All art belongs to MCDM Better late than never, right? This month’s issue of Arcadia is primarily focused for GMs. You DMs love great villains, right? And your players love despising them! These three articles included in the issue are all about great villains, as James details in his Editor’s notes. The art, as always, is outstanding, as is the very imaginative cover image you can see in the thumbnail. This issue will certainly not dissapoint. Shall we take a […]

Thumbnail art by David Harrington We are not even close to Halloween (172 days away in fact) but WotC decided to give us a new horror-themed book, this time set in the Ravenloft setting. As my other article about puzzles keeps getting frequently visited, I decided to make a new one with two extra puzzles to surprise your players with. This time, however, they are going to be horror-themed so you can easily plug and play them in your Ravenloft […]

As I mentioned over in that Twitter thread, I like 4e’s armor materials, but not how they got implemented. In principle, getting cool feyweave cloth from the fey weavers of the Feywild is classic moment from a lot of fantasy adventure. It’s found in Tolkien several times over, among other places. On the other hand, when it’s the standard and required upgrade just to keep up with the game’s math curve, it becomes tedious, unless the DM goes all out on telling stories […]

There is a new Sage Advice article on the Wizards of the Coast D&D website by Jeremy Crawford. The focus of this month’s Sage Advice is Armor Class (AC). Below is the excerpt of the article for your convenience: How do you calculate a creature’s Armor Class (AC)? Chapter 1 of the Player’s Handbook (p. 14) describes how to determine AC, yet AC calculations generate questions frequently. That fact isn’t too surprising, given the number of ways the game gives […]
