D&D Producing Content Through New Partnerships
Wizards of the Coast has announced a new wave of creator-led Dungeons & Dragons projects supporting Dragonlance, Greyhawk, the Forgotten Realms, Eberron, and Ravenloft. The announcements are divided between two initiatives.
The new D&D Icons line will reunite influential creators and their families with settings and characters they helped define. Actor and producer Joe Manganiello will serve as chief creative officer for D&D Icons. The line’s first projects will focus on Dragonlance, Drizzt Do’Urden, and Greyhawk.
Separate publishing partnerships will allow Kobold Press to produce official Forgotten Realms material, Visionary to support Eberron, and Ghostfire Gaming to develop new Ravenloft content.
Few details have been revealed about the books themselves. Most do not yet have titles, release dates, or confirmed formats.
Dragonlance
Dragonlance creators Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman will oversee a new tabletop book set in Krynn. It will be their first Dragonlance roleplaying project in approximately 20 years and is expected to bring decades of setting history and lore together in a single volume. Wizards has not confirmed whether it will be a campaign setting guide, an adventure, or a combination of both.
The Legend of Drizzt
Author R.A. Salvatore will develop a project centered on Drizzt Do’Urden, the drow ranger whose adventures have helped define the Forgotten Realms for nearly four decades. No specific contents have been announced, but the project may explore Drizzt’s companions, enemies, history, and the locations featured throughout Salvatore’s novels.
Greyhawk
Luke Gygax will lead a Greyhawk project using unfinished material created by his father, D&D co-creator Gary Gygax. Greyhawk began as Gary Gygax’s home campaign before becoming one of D&D’s earliest published settings. The project will provide a direct connection to the setting’s origins while adapting previously unpublished ideas for modern Dungeons & Dragons.

Forgotten Realms from Kobold Press
Kobold Press will develop new material for the broader Forgotten Realms campaign setting. The company has a long history of producing adventures, bestiaries, and other material compatible with Dungeons & Dragons, including work commissioned directly by Wizards of the Coast. No specific region, storyline, format, or release date has been announced.
This project is separate from Salvatore’s Drizzt-focused book, giving the Forgotten Realms support through both D&D Icons and the third-party publishing initiative.

Eberron from Visionary
Visionary will produce official new material for Eberron, the pulp fantasy setting created by Keith Baker. Eberron combines magical technology, noir intrigue, political tension, and exploration in a world still recovering from the Last War. Visionary has previously worked with Baker on Eberron material, giving the publisher an established connection to the setting and its creator.

Ravenloft from Ghostfire Gaming
Ghostfire Gaming will develop new official material for Ravenloft, D&D’s gothic horror setting. Ghostfire is known for dark fantasy and horror-focused products, making it a natural choice for a setting built around cursed Darklords, isolated Domains of Dread, and the supernatural Mists. Wizards has not revealed whether the project will be an adventure, setting expansion, or broader collection of horror material.
Together, the announcements represent a wider effort to support established D&D worlds through original creators, their families, and experienced outside publishers. They also suggest that Wizards plans to expand its classic settings without relying entirely on its internal design and publishing teams.
