Extra Life – Play Games. Heal Kids. 2015

Dungeons & Dragons Extra Life Team

The Extra Life charity event planning has finalized, and the Dungeons & Dragons Team from Wizards of the Coast is taking on an increased goal of $100,000 donations this year for Extra Life. They will be playing D&D for 48 hours with an inaugural Extra-Life Table Top Appreciation Weekend. The WotC D&D game will be broadcast on twitch.tv/wotc_dnd starting on Friday, October 2, at 8 PM Pacific and running until Sunday, October 4, 8 PM Pacific.

Members of the D&D Extra Life team who raise $50 and respond to a survey after the event will receive a promotional certificate for use in D&D Adventurers League play. You can join their team here. I am a participant on the team, and I have a goal of $200. Each participant is able to work on a team, and choose their own Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to support. I’ve chosen the D&D team and East Tennessee Children’s Hospital again this year:

East Tennessee Children’s Hospital

I am playing in support East Tennessee Children’s Hospital again this year. ETCH is one of four state-designated Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Centers in Tennessee, and the only hospital in eastern Tennessee dedicated exclusively to the care of children. Primary service area includes eastern Tennessee, southwestern Virginia, southeastern Kentucky and western North Carolina. Children’s Hospital houses 152 beds and offers medical and surgical sub-specialties such as cardiology, pediatric neurology and pediatric hematology/oncology. The hospital also has a pediatric Rehabilitation Center and operates a Home Health Care program.

Donation

Last year, there were several generous people that were able to donate, and I was able to raise $210, but was shy of my $250 goal.

So why do I want to help raise money through Extra Life?  Because right now all 4 of my children are healthy, and there are so many other children that are not. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

If you can, please help and sponsor my game and this charity. With your sponsorship, I will be able to reach my (very modest) fundraising goal of $200 with your help by making a small donation to help East Tennessee Children’s Hospital treat kids. I am asking that each person that can read this post to support me, and donate 25$ sponsorship for our game.

Ravenloft!

I will be hosting a D&D game that is Halloween themed this year, and I’ve decided to delve into Ravenloft. Also, we plan to play some D&D themed board games. Everyone has the option to bring their Halloween costume that they just used, and we will be starting:

Saturday October 31st at 10:00 am eastern.

I am going to work with my tech gurus to broadcast out to Twitch so that donors and potential donors can watch. Please follow up, so that I can share that twitch channel with you.

So please sponsor me by donating $25 or more by using the Donate Link: [[Donate Link]].

Thank you very much,

-Michael
