D&D 5eEvents

Dungeons & Dragons at HASCON

Hasbro is hosting its first ever convention, HASCON from September 8th – 10th, 2017 in Providence, Rhode Island. The convention gathers all of the Hasbro properties such as  Monopoly, Transformers, My Little Pony, MAGIC: THE GATHERING and Dungeons & Dragons all under one roof.

“Whether you want to play Tomb of Annihilation, meet some of the D&D team, or get a photo with our Batiri goblin—we’ve got you covered. Check out the full description of D&D events from HASCON below and don’t forget to order your tickets!”

The convention has a busy schedule of events. These include D&D adventures all weekend long that support the Tomb of Annihilation launch, “ranging from from two-hour family friendly introductions to two-day, ten-hour expeditions”.

My Little Pony Exclusive

For all the Bronies out there, you can bring your two favorite things together with an exclusive dice set. You’ll find this at the convention alongside Transformers and MAGIC: THE GATHERING exclusives.

“Adventuring with your friends can be hard when you don’t have the right set of gear. But don’t worry! We on the D&D team worked with our friends from My Little Pony to make sure you have the most magical dice for your D&D games with this HASCON exclusive.”

I’d love to see a My Little Pony RPG, propelled by a lighter version of 5e D&D rules.

That’d be actually a perfect way to get my kids into RPGs.

Fun fact, there is an official My Little Pony RPG (albeit not built on the 5E rules). It’s called “Tails of Equestria” (that’s not a typo), and it’s produced by a European group called River Horse Games (which seems very appropriate) under license from Hasbro, and is distributed in North America by Ninja Division/Soda Pop Miniatures.

It’s a very fun game, and already has a few accessories out. I recommend it!

Hoa, thanks. I’ve overlooked this one. Thanks for pointing me towards it.

  • I was able to attend HasCon this past weekend… I tweeted some pics of the event.

It had the feel of a toy convention with some very nice people at a convention center that was next door to the Hasbro offices. A toy convention that happened to have a very large Magic the Gathering tournament and some D&D splashed in there.
